Halloween pictures at home to save money?

I have a real nice cannon camera. I made my daughters christmas pictures at home last year then sent it through online walgreen for a frame, and it came out real nice. NOW we have a newborn girl(5 weeks) and I am finding it tight ($) at the end of the month for halloween pics. Should I do the same at home in their costumes? I am definitely getting a professional pic this weekend (getting paid) for her newborn pic and her and her sister pic. But for halloween would you do this at home? Any background ideas?

When my daughters were younger (babies) what I did for a couple of haloweens was dress them up in their costumes and took shots of them outside doing different things, playing in leaves or sitting in front of a bush with the fake spider webs all over. My suggestion is be creative and let your mind wander. I think you will be able to come up with some wonderful shots they will appreciate when they get older. Good luck.
